I am a new member of your forums, I thought I would say Hi! I am currently serving with the U.S. Army as a helicopter mechanic instructor at Fort Eustis, Va. I am a SFC (E-7) with 19 years of service. I have been riding on/off for 20 or so years...more seriously in the last 4. I am new to the VA area, recently (May '07) transferring from Fort Campbell, KY where I served with the 101st Airborne Division for 10 years. 3 trips to the sandbox (not that I am counting...lol)
I am now an Instructor...teaching the soldiers coming out of basic training (Fun, Fun)...how to become the best UH-60 BlackHawk helicopter mechanic the Army has ever seen
I hope to be able to contribute whatever I can! Take Care All! |

Welcome, Hawk6101 - glad to have you here. And thank you for your service to our country.
Teaching soldiers fresh out of basic training - what a great job! It's been many years since I left basic training for my six months of tech school in Pensacola, Florida - but as I recall we were all stoked from making it through some of the toughest weeks of our lives so far - and eager to learn and experience life as a bona-fide "adult". I hope you'll find it rewarding.
Glad you found us. Hope we get to meet you sometime. Welcome!
Take care,
