The good news is, nothing is happening.

The bad news is, nothing is happening that we know of .

Senate Bill 46 is still with the Safety Committee. As of this writing, there is no scheduled meeting for this Committee this week. But, we have found that committee meetings can "appear" out of nowhere and with very little notice. We have communicated with our Senator as well as the website administrator about this issue.

After this week, the General Asssembly is "on vacation" for two weeks for Easter break and won't be back in session until April 24th.

We are preparing a position paper to submit to the Safety Committee. If we get a reprieve on any meetings this week, we will have the time to polish it. We are also in contact with the newly-appointed Legislative Coordinator of ABATE, and are hoping that at the next ABATE meeting (April 14th) a definitive action plan can be developed.

Along with some ABATE members, we have been distributing a two-page Call to Action flyer with instructions on how to contact the Senate Committee as well as a synopsis of the issues. Alot of action has been taken by friends and members, and for that we are greatful.

Whatever your religious affiliation may be, we sure hope that you have this Friday off and can enjoy it with your friends and family.

If only Spring would come......
